This "luck" event just shows that luck wasn't invented for me
1. I wanted to get some FB and/or glad points in RA...
While some ppl get teams with monks and normal players, I get wammos with retribution and dorks without rez siigns...
2. Opened a number of chests, even end-game- no gold, purple only
3. At least I found a white dye...
Way to go me!
oh, almost forgot...
4. Tried to do Ruins of Morah mission with ppl... no way, idiots just kept standing near every vortex Varesh created... They're standing near vortex, standing so Varesh can hit 3 of em and one of them is saying "monk heal" -,-
I got mad and did it with henchies...
5. got many clovers, but not even 1 of them decreased dp by 15%
I should get unlucky title by just playing >_>

I went nuts in the Gates of Anguish this weekend. First time i've gotten into it with the Elite mission side of Nightfall. For some reason i didnt have any bit o' luck . No chests spawned in all areas of the DOA, the bosses never dropped their cool weapons for me, other than the normal end of the mission quest Chest that yields the appropriate 1 gem. 1.5k for a Stygian Gem? Got 2 of those.
Something about "The Cryptic Nature" of how ANET delivers their weekend announcements is what makes me a GW addict. Damn this game, I can't do my usual Karaoke weekends anymore . Got a lot of leaves and ale btw this weekend and destoryed it all coz am running out of storage space.
I expected i would get all kinds of gems and cool gold and green weapons too from bosses in DOA but, i guessed wrong. LOL. So, What's next? Looking forward to it to quench my addiction to this game.

Did everyone who is complaining here completely miss the Scribe? He/She clearly pointed out what was going to drop this weekend, with a little bit of mysterious air. Man, can nobody have fun with this game anymore?
I had a blast, and picking up clovers and ales (especially ales), although slightly stereotyped (borderline offensive to me because I am crazy), was a really cool treat to be completely honest.

Agreed. I had fun too. I do wish that there could have been an alternative way to get the items, since I don't really like farming, but wanted lots of the things. Still had fun though.

So when you go to the movies, do you want the movie trailers for that big upcoming feature to say "This movie is coming, and the bad guys is X, and he will do A, B, and C, and ultimately meet his demise when the hero (who turns out the be F, and not G as you originally thought) does (this and that) to kill him."
You want your book flyleafs to say "This is a good book. You will like it because the traitor ends up being Mr. M, and that's revealed with hints on Page 96, paragraph 7, and Page 221, paragraph 4, when the protagonist says, [content of quote]."
You like walk-throughs of the game before you play it, and no discovery, no discussion, just "flat out, factual, there it is" on Day One. No, "who's the bad guy this time?" or "is that person going to end up being a friend or a foe?" Facts on a platter, and the sooner the better.
How boring!
We makes games. We play games. And sometimes--count on it--we're going to be playful in messaging about our games.

Not to sound rude Gaile, but that is kind of how the story of the last two Guild Wars chapters has been. You are introduced to Shiro and Varesh pretty early in the game and you know that is who you are going to be fighting against. In Prophecies, you didn't know who is pulling all the strings until the second to the last mission.

Yeah it was now that I think about it. If you want an on topic post. I've played more hoping for free ale, which I've gotten a decent amount of, and so naturally, I got more good stuff than I would have otherwise.
EDIT: I liked the little Irish flavor you gave your post on St. Patrick's Day Weekend.

You win the best got-back-on-topic-post-ever award.
Speaking of on topic, the idea of dropped alchohol was the most amazing thing. I just wish I wasn't stuck doing my thesis instead of pwning mantids all day long.

I gotta admit, I've been pretty lucky this weekend. Bought 4 coffers. Got 1 armor remnant, but the other 3 contained 5 titan gems each

2) 60 ales
3) Ton's of dyes including 1 white and 1 black

I was lucky enough to get a couple of good laughs:
"Shreader Sharptongue drops a Shamrock Ale."
LMAO Thanx for the mini event Anet.

Not sure what all the complaining is about. I played for about an hour Friday after the event started helping a guildie and it was pretty apparent that the drops were going to be ales and clover decided that wasn't very interesting and went about other business the rest of the weekend.
So the real question is a weekend event really an event if no one comes?
And here's a request...any chance we can get a double faction weekend in AB anytime in the near future?

I got a small handful of clovers (for DoA use), and about 40 ales to put toward the drunkard title. While finishing NF with my monk, I got a black dye, and a green drop. I also took a few minuted to get LB2, and a perfect req 9 sundering ornate scythe of fortitude dropped.
Might be minor for some ppl, but I had a fun weekend.

At least you got a laugh...
"Shreader Sharptongue drops an Shreader's Talons."
He could have dropped something useful like a Shamrock Ale or a Four Leaf Clover for me, but no...

I dusted off the "Original Ranger" (my first character) and let him play with the grawl outside Frontier Gate for the most part. Results? About 50 clovers and shamrock ales (ea), two stacks of OGNs (ready for Wintersday!) and dyes up the wazoo, including my first white, a black and about 8 browns.
I think browns are the new purple... those things drop like crazy!
I also noticed that the ale and clover drops were in addition to regular drops. I even once had a grawl drop a grawl gear, a clover and an ale at the same time.
I should also add that, thanks to a stray arrow, I discovered that Moa were dropping holiday items as well. I took to hunting Moa with the grawl and they gave me two ales and a clover. That amused me.
Does everyone realize that the clovers are the best DP removers we've had yet in the PvE world? True, rainbows will give a morale boost above zero, but with up to 15% removal across the entire party... nice. Very nice.
